Smaller vision–language models with selective, task‑aware reasoning offer one promising direction for making multimodal systems more practical and accessible. We present our model and its learnings to inform ongoing research in multimodal modeling, computer‑using agents, and mathematical scientific reasoning. We hope these details are useful to researchers exploring similar tradeoffs and invite critical evaluation, replication, and extension by the community.
